Nature of Work

There is always a misconception about being a plastic surgeon. They are thought to be working with plastic and do only the cosmetic-related surgery, which is not true.

As a matter of fact, plastic and reconstructive surgery deals with rebuilding, restoration as well as improving the normal appearance and function of a human body. This field encompassed a wide range of conditions in different parts of the body including those with trauma and burns, cancer, congenital deformities as well as tissue degenerative conditions which require reconstruction involving adults and children.

Thus, such stigmatization should not exist. All plastic surgeons are not necessarily a cosmetic surgeon as there are also those who specialized in cancers removing, neck surgery, major burn surgery, pediatrics and congenital surgery, hand and wrist surgery and many more.
